Envision Mississippi: Know Your Past, Create Your Future

Calling artists, writers, time travelers! Write and illustrate Mississippi’s future!

A state bicentennial project of the Mississippi Museum of Art, the Mississippi Library Commission, and Parents & Kids Magazine.

Presented in conjunction with the Museum’s landmark bicentennial exhibition of more than two centuries of Mississippi art; Picturing Mississippi, 1817-2017: Land of Plenty, Pain, and Promise, on view December 9, 2017 – July 8, 2018.

Artists and writers have been depicting and interpreting Mississippi for more than 200 years, even before the territory became a state in 1817. As we celebrate the state’s bicentennial in 2017, you’re invited to “envision” Mississippi, not in the distant past, but in the far-away future.

What does your Mississippi look like 200 years from now?
